28.0% of Sulawesi Tengah's population has no access to a toilet at all

Sulawesi Tengah still faces the problem of Open Defecation. The province has 2,831,000 population, of which 289,493 are children, but only 54.21% of its population has access to improved sanitation.

28.0% has no access to a toilet at all. School toilet facilities regarded as being in good condition only reach 22.50%.

The effect of poor sanitation contributes to the death of children in Sulawesi Tengah up to 58 per 1,000 child birth and diarrhea incidence rate of 2.20% in children. Poor sanitation in Sulawesi Tengah also contributes to a stunting rate of 41% in children.
